We are the only Panhellenic sorority to actually own our own home instead of renting. This allows our home to be governed by a group of alumni and gives us more control over the appearance and maintenance of our home.
As you enter the main floor of our home you pass through the foyer and a second set of beautiful wooden two story doors to our main hall. To the left is our traditionally decorated parlor room featuring our current composite photo and our piano. To the right is our chapter room with a double bedroom off the side. Each of our bedrooms is named after it's purpose to the original owners, the Esterlys, who built the house in the 1800s.
This first bedroom is the master bedroom and it has private access to one of the full baths on the first floor. If you continue down the main hall our study room appears on the left; it is clad with awards and study garb around it's large community study table. Further down the hall are two more bedrooms. One is the warming room; it was used by servants to keep food warm that was cooked in the kitchen, which was located in a seperate house entirely. This room is a triple and it features a private full bath. The last first floor bedroom is the presidents suite also known as the sewing room. And, of course our president enjoys a single bedroom.
You can either take the servant's stairs at the back of the house or go up the grand staircase located near the foyer to the second the floor. After the first flight of stairs you can choose to go right or left. If you go right you will find five more bedrooms. One, the children's room, is a double and the only bedroom to be painted pink. It is the children's room because the Esterly children used to live there. The next bedroom is the ballroom; dances and family gatherings were held here. This room is spacious, but it also houses four women when the house is at capacity. Another single, the gun room, is located upstairs. Mr. Esterly stored his guns in this room. It features beautiful double frosted glass doors that were originally designed to be sure the children could not see in. Two more triple rooms are on the left. One was the playroom and the other was the nursery.
If you choose to go left at the top of the stairs you first reach a large multi-stall and shower bathroom with pedastal sinks and a vanity. The servant's stairwell is here as well as what was once the servants quarters. Originally, the room was seperated in two for males and females, but today it is one large triple room.
If you head down two stories you will reach our finished basement. The basement includes our pink and green room (a television room), the kitchen, the dining room, a half bath, laundry facilities and storage rooms.
