Panhellenic Council is an advisory board made up of members from all three chapters to represent and oversee the happenings and activities of all the chapters on campus, all members are voted on and appointed by the delegates of all of the chapters. Our purpose is the following, as it states in Article II of our bylaws:
1. To serve as the governing and coordinating organization for UW-W member sororities.
2. To maintain the high standards of sorority life and inter-sorority relationships with our University.
3. To further intellectual accomplishment and scholarship.
4. To cooperate within ht eUniversity administration in the maintenance of high social standards.
5. To be a forum for discussion of questions of interest in the University and sorority world.
6. To compile rules governing recruitment, bidding, and new membership on this campus.
The board members responsibilities:
President: Oversees all officers, precides at all meetings and coordinating all activies on campus,
Vice President: Oversees all roundtables, trains delegates, attends IFC meetings and stands in as president if she should be unable to attend a meeting.
Secretary: Compiles and distributes the minutes from each meeting and keep track of attendance of officers and delegates.
Treasurer: Keep record of all reciepts and distributions of panhellenic funds, prepare a budget for the academic year and hold at least one successful fundraiser each semester.
Academics: Promote academic excellence throught the greek community, coordinate the week of the scholars activities and recognize those who achieve it during the week of the scholars banquet.
Education: Planning and coordinating educational programs for all new members of the greek
community each semester.
Co-Recruitment: Planning, preparing and publicizing formal fall recruitment.
Philanthropy: Collect and announce any community service oppurtunities.
Social Risk: Coordinate a round robin for all the chapters each semester and work with IFC’s correlating chair on planning greek week in the spring.
Public Relations: Create and distribute plublicity, newsletters, and presreleases to the campus and update the panhellenic council.
