Description of Elected Positions
 

President:
 . Provides leadership and overall direction for the chapter.
 . Appoints members to committee chair positions not filled through elections.
 . Calls and conducts meetings.
 . Insures that an actives communications network is formed.
 . Does overall planning.

President-Elect:
 . Attends all board meetings, shadows president.
 . Represents SAM on the Dean's Advisory Council.
 . Works with the President to ensure a smooth flow of information and activity between the board and the general membership.
 . Meets with other management group members to organize the Management Banquet.
 . Responsible for end of the semester elections.
 . Moves on to President for the following semester.

VP of Membership:
 . Helps recruit new members.
 . Responsible for recording membership points.
 . Responsible for New Member Meeting.
 . Responsible for collecting local chapter membership forms.
 . Responsible for documentation toward graduation for all new members that are freshmen.
 . Responsible for being early to meetings to have sign-up sheets ready.

VP of Membership-Elect:
 . Assists the VP of Membership.
 . Helps to recruit new members.
 . Helps to plan the New Member Meeting.
 . Helps record membership points.
 . Moves on to VP of Membership the following semester.
 . Handles all correspondence with our national governing body.
 . Responsible for national forms collected at beginning of year.
 . Responsible for collecting membership dues.

VP of Operations:
 . Makes speaker arrangements.
 . Entertains the speaker during dinner, and before or after the meeting.

Treasurer:
 . Responsible for all financial matters including check writing, checkbook balancing, and simple budgeting.
 . Responsible for giving periodic financial updates to the board.
 . Meets with the president twice a month after the general member meeting to give a periodic financial update.
 . Responsible for collecting membership dues.

Treasurer-Elect:
 . Assists Treasurer in all activities.
 . Moves onto Treasurer the following semester.

VP of Publicity (2 person, year long position, elected in Spring):
 . Coordinates all of the publicity for all meetings and activities.
 . Ensures promotion of the group.

Secretary:
 . Responsible for taking the minutes of all the meetings.
 . Responsible for SAM newsletter distribution at general members meetings monthly.
 . Decorates the SAM bulletin board by the Management Office on the 5th floor of Carlson.
 . Works with social chairs to take pictures of SAM events.

VP of Fundraising (2 person, year long position, elected in Spring):
 . Coordinated fundraising activities for SAM.
 . Chairs Fundraising Committee.

Webmaster:
 . Updates website
 . Communicates via website news and other information about SAM
