Society for the Advancement of Management Facts
Why
SAM?
·
Leadership skills, SAM is the first
business organization on this campus to focus on developing the leadership and
team player attitude needed to be successful in the business world. We have
multiple ways ever semester where students can take charge, and develop their
leadership skills in a very hands on way.
·
SAM is focusing on a sustainable
management approach. We are encouraging students to have a long term approach
in business management that is economical, efficient and practical while being environmentally
conscious
·
Throughout each
semester, guest speakers from top companies and organizations visit us, giving
SAM members an opportunity to get to know a new organization or business,
network, resume build and more.
·
Meet Friends and Have Fun!
SAM is a relatively small organization and it's easy to get to know all of our
members. Throughout the semester, we hold multiple social events.
·
Local Dues are only $20
·
Please feel free to stop by at a
meeting. SAM always welcomes new members!
Other
SAM Info:
·
SAM is a nationally recognized organization.
However, we are currently considered an inactive national chapter. The reason
being that in past years the costs of being nationally recognized has not been
outweighed by the benefits. However, we always take a decision as a group in
the fall semester whether we want to be nationally recognized. Choosing to be
nationally recognized is always an option; the national dues are $35. Regardless of whether SAM is nationally recognized
in a particular academic year, we provide the same number of leadership,
networking and growth opportunities
·
Locally we are recognized both by
the University and the College of Business, as an active professional
organization
